pm948image002.jpgOn November 13 - 14, 2018, the International Program on Non-Proliferation and Export Control (INECP) of the US Department of Energy in cooperation with the US Armony National Laboratory and with the support of the US Department of State's Export Control and Border Security Program (EXBS) in Kyiv held a workshop. for representatives of the state bodies included in the system of export control of Ukraine, on the development of a national strategy for interaction with industry, whose foreign economic activity is related to the implementation of international edach dual-use goods.

The purpose of the workshop was to determine the available resources and methods for implementing information and awareness raising work with enterprises, as well as priorities and directions for its improvement in the context of developing a national action plan for interactions with industry, taking into account the role and contribution of each agency.

Noting the important role of industry in preventing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and their means of delivery, and pointing out the numerous cases of the involvement of virtuous but ignorant enterprises in illegal foreign economic activity, it was emphasized the need to establish a system of preventive informational and educational work among the industry, as provided for in paragraph 8 (d) of UNSCR 1540 (2004).

The task of this work is to create a conscious attitude of the subjects of management towards their obligations in the field of export control, to bring them the latest legislative changes and trends and to exchange best practices for the implementation of regulatory requirements in order to prevent offenses in the field of export control.

In this context, business entities are offered a list of control issues that will help identify red flags of risk at the stage of planning international transmissions.
